The piece
Esquire Pouf Collection
Made from 100% braided cotton rope by local artisans. Each piece is made by hand in our workshops, using thick braided cotton rope and traditional crochet techniques. The densely stitched, natural-fiber construction creates a resilient, comfortable that holds its shape while adding tactile warmth and global charm to living rooms, Kitchen’s, bedrooms, nurseries, or patios. Available in natural tones and vibrant, sun-warmed colors, the Esquire collection pairs effortlessly with boho, modern, and eclectic interiors. Ethically produced in small batches, every piece is unique — slight variations in color and stitch reflect authentic handcraftsmanship.
Filling your pouf
Your pouf arrives as a finished cover, flat and unfilled. A filled pouf is mostly air: sent that way it would travel as a crate of empty volume, and reach you creased along the folds. Empty, it weighs next to nothing and opens without a mark on the stitch.
Fill it with what you have to hand — shredded foam, fabric offcuts, old linens, or polystyrene beads if you want it light to move between rooms. Pack it firmer than seems necessary: the crochet gives a little over the first weeks, and a pouf that starts soft ends flat. Keep a handful of filling aside to top it up.
Spot clean with mild soap & water; air dry flat. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Test colors first.
Deep cleaning
- Hand wash cover in lukewarm water with mild soap; rinse well. Remove fill first if possible.
- Machine wash only if label allows: gentle cycle, cold water, and mild detergent; use mesh bag.
Stain & odor tips
- Oil: absorb with baking soda/cornstarch, brush off, then spot-clean.
- Ink: test first; dab with isopropyl alcohol on hidden area.
- Odors: sprinkle baking soda overnight, then vacuum.
Precautions
- Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, tumble drying, and prolonged direct sunlight.
- Test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area first.
- For sewn-closed or vintage pieces, consult a professional textile cleaner.
